It's the little things ~ chasing butterflies, trapping fireflies... watching info-mercials?

Mya is my ray of sunshine, my bright pink sprinkle on ice cream... She is always such a joy to be around! I love her sweet spirit, sense of humor, and share her love for laughter, which is probably why we have so much fun together. :)

Fun in the pool, fun chasing butterflies, fun watching fireflies... but the MOST fun watching info-mercials! You name it. The Snuggie, The Touch n' Brush,... I can't even name all, but she insists I sit and watch every agonizing second, then begs for "it" (whatever "it" may be). I cherish our info watching times... and the shrill of pure delight she released when she realized that Target sells the Snuggie. :) She reminds me to find humor and delight in the little things. I love you Mya!!!

Obama, the African Colonial

I have read many articles over the course of the past 2 years.... this one is a MUST read. It requires a little time, but is completely worth it!

Pray for Dylan!

I was given the one lovely blog award by a VERY generous friend. ;) But a little on that another day... I have just a little time to write and want to make the most of it! Audrey is down with an ear infection and is FINALLY sleeping. She was up all night, crying and the meds did not seem to help much. Despite the lack of sleep in the last 48 hrs., I'm am so thankful that an earache is all we are dealing with.

As I was reading Linday's (the very generous friend) blog, I noticed a little tag that said "Pray for Dylan" and out of curiosity (and because there was a pic of a baby) and thought I would pass on the site.

I don't know the family or the little dylan, but was so touched and was again moved to tears at the thought of the suffering this baby is going through. I know many of you are prayer warriors and will cover this poor little guy in prayer!

Happy Father's day!

Happy Father's day to my wonderful husband!

I married the best Dad/husband in all the world!

I could go on and on, but let me just say this... Some dads take a weekend to themselves. They go hunting, fishing, play golf, go to the movies... I think that is great! I encouraged Nate over and over again to take some time for himself and just relax. He has been working hard cranking out papers for finals (for those that don't know, he is finishing up his Master's degree).

However, Nate asked me on a date friday, worked on removing my hideous wallpaper border in the kitchen, painted... and today, on Father's day, instead of taking a day off to do whatever he pleases (something he deserves 110%). Nate treated us all to lunch, mowed the grass, spent time with the kiddos, and finished painting our living room/kitchen!

This is why I fell in love with him and continue to everyday! I am so underserving of such a wonderful man! The Lord truly blessed me beyond measure!

Thanks Daddy Dave! For being the best Dad-in-law a girl could ask for! As Mr. Parker said this morning in church " our children, my son has taken on more than just my physical appearance, but the man I am as well." Thanks for being such a wonderful example to him of what a man, husband, father is! Love you!

Daddy,
What can I say, but I love you! Thanks for loving me with all your heart! Thanks for willingly sacrificing time, money... for me. Because of you I always felt safe, always felt loved, always felt cherished... xoxoxo! I love you!!!

If my boy turns out to be a combo of all these 3 wonderful men, I know he will do great things for the Lord!

In love with Lucketts

I was at an antique store, "just around the bend" ;) searching for a bed frame and kitchen chairs. I found neither. However, the kind owner of the antique store told me I "must" make a trip (about 30 min) out to Lucketts Store. I didn't have time that day, but made the trip to Lucketts this past weekend. It was love at first sight! I felt giddy with delight, like a kid walking into a candy store, like my mom walking into Godiva... you get the picture. :)

I didn't take many pictures of the place... it is like a little village! This is the main store. They have several cute buildings/sheds on the property that house all kinds of vintage treasures. You can check out their website at http://www.lucketstore.com/
I absolutely loved that blue bench! However, since I had a limited amount of cash to spend, I decided not to buy it. I left Lucketts with a bed frame, window, and linen towel in tote.

**In case you are wondering, this is not the bed frame I bought. But do you see the lamp with the bird on left side of the picture? I wanted that lamp shade sooo bad! :)
It was a delightful trip! It is a good thing this store is not just around the corner...

Party baby!

Hard to believe one year can fly by so fast! Slaeter began taking baby steps at 10 months, really good baby steps at 11months, and is now walking, running, climbing...

God truly does give you the desires of your heart, if we simply desire to follow His will for our lives! I didn't desire a baby when I discovered I was pregnant with Slaeter. I know that must sound very selfish and ungrateful to many who have struggled to conceive just one child. But please let me explain, I was busy with 2 little ones and was not ready to be sick, vomitting all day for 5 1/2 months. During those 5-6 months, I do the best I can to be a wife and mom - instead of a walking zombie. Praise the Lord from who all blessings flow! He knew one of the deepest desires of my heart was to have a son and as superficial as this sounds, a son with dark hair, blue eyes, and dimples! The Lord blessed me with the sweetest, cutest boy ever (Excuse me for being a little partial)! ;) I can't imagine life without any of my children and on this day, say a special thanks for this one.
May He grow to be a man like his father. A man who loves the Lord with all his heart. A man who cherishes and cares for his family.

He got birthday kisses instead of the traditional birthday spankings ;)

Slaeter Joshua Sullivan ~ One Year Old

Happy 1st Birthday Slaeter!

My sweet boy is 1 today - Hoorah!

My little boy is so easy, easy going, easy to please, easy to get along with...

He doesn't have a favorite toy, but he really has enjoyed this book and the Thomas train a lady from our church gave him (used to be her kid's train). He loves to pull it around our house or chase it when the girls "play" with him.

Goodbye 1st year ~
From the moment I conceived this little one, I felt something different... like the Lord was definitely speaking to me during my pregnancy with him, in many ways...
I won't even go into for lack of time.
I think my bond with Slaeter is different than the girls, mainly because all he has had for most of his life, is me. The girls were very close to my family by this point in their life. I know they still cherish the memories they have with my fam in S.A. and I am thankful for the special relationship they share with my parents and sisters. Although I deeply wish Slaeter knew his granparents/family (on both sides) better, I have SO enjoyed the special bond we share, not to mention ALL the kisses he showers on me! My heart overflows with love for this boy! He is the only guy that can give Nate a little competition when it comes to my heart. ;)
I praise the Lord for his life!

Mya & Meagan

Meagan was the first friend Mya made when we moved to Virginia. Since we moved from Fairfax, we haven't gotten to see this sweet little girl very much. We had her over to play on Tuesday and the girlies had great fun dressing-up, playing in the water, eating cookies, and chillin' on the couch after a hard days playin' watching cartoons. ** Sorry the clarity of the pictures are so bad! I took them with my video camera because - ONCE AGAIN - I was out of batteries! ** :)
